Day 200

Today we are 200 days on the road. So far it has been an amazing journey and we still don’t feel ready to return home, but nevertheless we need to start planning our return. Stop thinking about returning… start talking about the riding.

The last couple of days we’ve spent on PEI (Prince Edward Island) and to our surprise, we fell in love with the beautiful tiny island! The first day started with some drizzling rain, but the weather changed into overwhelming sun until today (and hopefully the next upcoming days), which was good for David’s boots. The boots were always leaking, so we tried to fix them the hard way with some silicon 😊.

We drove the entire coastal road of PEI, we even drove through Norway and the North Cape and Belfast 😊. They’ve been very creative on the naming of the villages.

The entire island consist of agriculture and fishery, which made us enjoy cooking our diners with fresh fish, lobster, oysters, potatoes and other vegetables. The scenery is amazing; grain, corn and peas-ful fields in combination with red cliffs, nice beaches, blue sea and friendly people. The islands breaths out peace, zen, anti-stress.

Today we’ve visited Charlottetown, the province capital town. It isn’t a big town, but it’s beautiful with the colored wooden houses, nice restaurants and bars. By coincidence we even discovered that Charlottetown is the cradle of the Canadian confederation. What started with a ‘maritime’ confederation ended up in a ‘canadian’ confederation.
